Flying. help???

Question

im flying out of glasgow airport to go to canada. i know im only aloud one peice of hand luggage but how many suitcases can i take which get checked in is it 1 or 2??? thnx for any help :)

It depends on the airline.  You can take 2 pieces of checked luggage on any airline, but they might charge you for it.  The fee can be anywhere from $10 to $200.  Most of the time the first piece is free.

It will depend on which airline you are traveling with. It should say in your ticket documentation or check on their website or with the company you booked with.

Unless things have changed, you can check in as many bags as you want providing that you DO NOT exceed the luggage allowance as stated on your ticket.  It is only when you exceed the allowance that you start getting charged.  For more information then check with your carrier.  

Saying that though, most people do seem to put everything in one maybe 2 cases, however, I have checked folk in that have 3 or 4 bags per person but as they were not exceeding their bagagge allowance they were fine.

The airline website should have this info for you, and I urge you to check that, rather than counting on the people here for accurate info.  There are so many different airlines, and the rules differ amongst them. The website of your airline, should have a baggage section, or even a FAQ section that can lead you in the right direction.

Check with your carrier.  Air Canada (I fly them at least twice a month out of Pearson/Toronto) allows two checked bags, but has weight/height restrictions (they weigh everything now).  I can't remember the exact requirements on this; their website (aircanada.com) should answer this for you.
