  1. depends on the gender. music, games(video games). nothing where they have to "learn" unless they enjoy that kind of stuff.

  2. dont take them

  3. Yes, leave them at home

  4. Don't worry, it's Italy, they will enjoy every part of it. Since their are two of them and they are almost the same age, I'm sure you will be surprised on how easily they fit in to their new surroundings. The history, the beauty, the art, the foods, the people, these are all such interesting things. And surely, they will find many more things just as interesting.

Take them to the local book store ahead of time and have them pick out some great books on Italy. You will find beautiful pictorial guides and art books. And get them each a journal to write in daily. Make this a daily assignment. What a great thing to look back and read 10 years from now. They will thank you one day!  Let them play in the fountains, hang out with local Italian children, run up and down ancient stairwells, and eat gelato all day long... Enjoy your time with them, it goes by so quick..

  5. If they are'nt happy with that...slap them and tell them to wake up!  How spoilt are they?????????????

  6. get them trats and movies.

  7. talk to them and listen to what they say and don't dismiss everything on the spot. just for once try to establish some sort of connection instead of pushing a dvd player in front of them.

Be honest with them, don't try to be the dominating adult, expose your weaknesses and take their strengths. Be their friend. They are pretty well entertained when they're around friends aren't they?

Not the answer you wanted is it?

It's hard work, but it's worth it - for all parties involved.

  8. Leave them at home? If they are going to need constant entertaining??!! Not much of a break. Fair enough if they are too young to be unsupervised. Good luck and happy hols! x
