Question:

Flying out of Nassau (Lynden Pindling International)

I live in Abaco and usually fly out of Marsh Harbour. Now, because Marsh Harbour doesn't have any security or anything at the airport, once you fly into the US, we always have to go through customs, then re-check in at the ticket counter, wait in the huge lines to go through security before we can catch our next flight. I have never flown out from Nassau, but will be in a couple of days with US airways. When flying out of Nassau, once I get into the US, will I have to start all over by checking in again and going through security before catching my next flight? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  1. In abaco, when you travel to the U.S you don't clear customs. The airport is very small, and remote. However, Nassau's airport, is much larger, and can accommodate more, you clear customs in Nassau, before you leave for the U.S. However, when you arrive in the states, you're basically good to go, Just get your bags, and maybe pass through a security checkpoint or two. However, you don't have to clear customs and all of that, until you come back from the States, in Nassau, and Marsh Harbour. I live in Abaco Too, marsh Harbour. I go to Saint Francis, Lol. I fly to the states from Nassau All the times, it's really fun. In nassau Though, before you reach the states, you is have to go through all of these security and stuff, you'll see when you get there. But once you get to the states, you don't have to clear much.

  2. you do the check in at Nassau.. Once you are in the US you are good to go. If you are coming back then you will be checked in the US to come here and also by Nassau Immigration and Customs..
