my flight leaves in the evening but I wanted to see about getting a morning flight. I heard some places have restrictions on how early you're allowed to arrive... Is that true?

  1. You can do some airport shopping I guess...They say to get there 2 hours before your flight...Call the airport you're flying out of and see. I think they wouldn't mind.

  2. It really depends on the airline.  Some allow 3 hours, while some are up to a day.  Your best chance is to either call, or even go to the ticket counter and just request a standby.  Of course, lately some carriers have slapped fees when only months ago there were none

  3. Airlines do allow you to fly standby on the day of your original departure.  I would expect to pay a fee for doing so, if I were you, averaging either a standard $50 to $200, or the difference of the going rate of a one way fare as opposed to what you paid, and again, this depends on the airline.
