  1. try to find out what type of bird it is and then find out what it eats. put it in a bleander till its really mashed up then try to feed it through a eye dropper. but she a vet first.

  2. You need to put it back where you found it. 99 times out of 100, the parents of the 'stray' bird are just out of sight, waiting for you to go away.

Raising a bird that is not a starling, house sparrow, or grackle is illegal. Those species are invasive species, and wildlife rehabilitator will not accept them. I suggest looking up pictures of young starlings and grackles. If they do not match, please, contact a wildlife rehabilitator, as raising the bird would be illegal.

  3. Eh...sounds like maybe a small grackle? I have 2 of those. Mine ate exact baby bird formula. If it's already walking around, you can give some of that to him in a dish and he'll eat by himself. Mine really enjoyed having the formula mixed with mashed banana. Yeah you should give him a water dish too, but it's likely he won't use it until he doesn't eat formula anymore. They love bathing so when he gets older, give him a nice big dish to splash in. Once he doesn't need the formula anymore, feed him bread, crackers, corn or bran flakes, potato flakes, and oats sort of crushed up and mixed together (by hand though). They also enjoy eating crickets and mealworms (you can buy those at almost any pet store), and leftovers like mashed potatoes.

  4. take the bird to petsmart. ask for all the advice and help u can, they are happy to help and give u papers and coupons for things to raise it!!

  5. Dahh it needs water...it sounds like a wild bird too

  6. The very first thing you need to do is to identify it to make sure it really is a kind of bird that people can keep as pets where you live. If it is a species that is native to your area, it is illegal to keep it, and at the very least you could be fined several thousand dollars just for having it.

If it IS a kind of bird that is kept as a pet, you are going to need to know exactly what kind of bird it is. "Birds" don't all eat the same thing; pigeons eat grain, parrots eat fruit, lorikeets drink nectar, etc. And of course it needs water. There are very few animals that don't need a constant supply of fresh water.

  7. My sister and I raised two baby birds we found once. Their nest had collapsed and we found them on the ground. We were kind of in the middle of nowhere at the time. We put them in a large glass aquariumish thing. We fed them mashed up bread with apples and fed them with tweezers. Later we fed them little worms. But be careful because they're greedy and can't tell when they are full. We took them outside regularly and gave them a chance to try and fly. Eventually they both flew away. You could give it water from an eyedropper. Good luck with raising it.
