Focail Maith likely to cause an upset in Pin Point Recruitment Turmeric Handicap
Focail Maith is all set to cause an upset in the Pin Point Recruitment Turmeric Handicap at Catterick in England on Wednesday, July 11, 2012. A victory in the class-4 event will earn his owner a cash prize of £4,075.
A total of 10 runners will be battling out for victory in the 1 mile, 7 furlong and 177 yard race, which will start at 15:20 GMT. Furthermore, the going will be soft and all eyes will be set on Kian’s Delight, who is in spectacular form at the moment. He
has been priced 3 to 1 by the bookmakers and the punters will also risk more bets on him than anyone else.
The main reason behind that is the excellent momentum carried by the four-year-old gelding, who has won three back to back races. His overall record is quite impressive, as he has delivered tremendous results for his team, wining five races out of 16 outings.
The Peter Bowen’s trainee was not much threatening at the start of his career in 2010, as he struggled to perform with consistency. However, his skills have polished since then and he has been extremely dominant in the ongoing season.
Despite his solid showings in 2012, things will not be simple for Kian’s Delight, as the conditions at Catterick will be tricky. One of the runners who is likely to give him a tough time will be, Focail Maith.
The four-year-old gelding has got a poor strike rate, but his recent form has been extremely good. He has participated in 25 events, winning just three of them. Moreover, he has finished runner up on five times whereas secured the third place on the same
number of times.
Focail Maith’s performances in the 2012 season have been really impressive, which shows the hard work his trainer has been doing with him. He has entered four races this year, winning one of them and finished runner up on a couple of times. He only failed
once to make it to the top three, but the result back then was still not bad, as he took the fourth spot.
The Tim Pitt’s trained runner will be partnered by seasoned rider, Graham Gibbons, at Catterick today.
