Question:

Focus on the BBC?

I just turned on the rugby at the end; I can't stand the sport but I do hate the English (no accusations of xenophobia, I am English, thank you). They went to get opinions from the studio and all they were talking about was England's shocking play. English people make up about 85% of the British population. However, our broadcasters are entrusted to service Britain holistically. Where should the focus be?

  1. Yeah, it was all about England's shocking play...of course it was...England were 5-1 favourites to win today and they were awful.  They made mistake after mistake and they lost a game they should have won.

And you're wrong...they always have an old player from each of the teams in the studio, so they get the opinion from both sides, and they did say that Scotland should be delighted with their win, and rightly so, it's their first of the six nations this year and it's always a big deal to beat the English...for everyone.

To be honest, it was a pretty ugly game from both sides.  England were the worse team on the field, but Scotland didn't play a nice game of rugby...

What I think would be a shame is if tomorrow the rugby highlights in the papers are about England's bad game...they should focus on a brilliant victory for Wales over at Croke Park and a hard fought win for the Scots at Murrayfield...

And what is wrong with you...you can't stand rugby?!  You're messed in the head mate it's an ace sport!!

  2. Well I can assure you there are far more intracacies in the game of rugby than football. The players are there to play, not dive around like they've been shot in the face every time someone brushes against them, and getting 100 grand a week for it.

I bet you don't even know any of the miriad of offside rules in rugby, let alone any tactics on the field.

  3. Does anyone listen to what that biased a---hole Brian Moore has to say

  4. I watched it in England with the Scottish commentary !!!

Its was by far better coverage ?!!? The Bias was not so in your face as you get with Moore/Butler.

    Well Done Scotland !!!

What a week to be going up there I can't wait !!!

    Cymru Am Byth!!

  5. England are always the main focus in sports. EVERYONE wants to beat us, n if they don't, the pathetic ponses throw a sissy fit, yet if they do, they gloat about it fer years to come.

England have always performed the best in competitions. Most successful in rugby and footie. (Despite not qualifying for the Euro.)

Also, as you said, 85% of the population are English. We ain't exactly gonna critise our lads for a couple of taffys n jocks are we.

We're England darlin - sport is our life. If the Scots n Welsh don't like our play or commentarys, they know where they can shove it. (Up their arses)  x

  6. The two commentators are very rude, abusive and totally unprofessional!

I watched one match where they were slagging the Ospreys off, but as soon as they started winning, they changed their tune - appalling! They should give an unbiased opinion and NEVER insult the players or the referee!

Personally I wish they would keep their mouths shut and their bowels open!

If I was in charge I would have given them their P45's a very long time ago!

  7. Yes you are right!! Wales just won the Triple Crown, yet the news is all England as per bloody usual!!

Scotland won the Calcutta Cup!!! All that matters to these commentators is England (except for Johnathon Davies, best one ever!!)

  8. I watched it in Scotland with Scottish commentators and they milked it as well.   I agree with you about English commentators generally - the difference is that Scottish commentators only broadcast to a Scottish audience.  The commentators should try to be objective and comment on the positive aspects of the winning team

  9. Surely the BBC and the 6 nations are at logger heads by definition right from the start. How can you "serve Britain holistically" when the British Lions are not actually one of the teams playing in the six nations?

You guys need more TV. Or realize that there is more

TV coverage than that offered by the BBC.

Not that it matters, boring games tonight, the New Zealand All-Blacks will go through the six nations champion like a hot knife through butter when they tour in November.

  10. Come on you lot the BBC offer the finest coverage of televised rugby union. Brian Moore&Eddie Butler are as amusing as those two daft old men sitting in the balcony in the Muppet Show! Im Welsh and feeling exremely proud of our national team, but the beauty of us British is our excentricity, we love 'taking the mick' out of each other&it's our differences that make our Island (& dear old Ireland) such a special place to live, hope your all going to support Wales v France next Saturday, 'come-on the dragon!'

  11. we pay the same TV licence as every one else and we do have a BBC (Scotland) but when it comes to sport its all English so i should get a rebate from the English BBC they have done it again today BBC Scotland showing English football so what about our teams and they accuse us of being anti English when in fact they are anti Scottish anti welsh anti Irish and we are supposed to be united kingdom ha ha ha stopping for tea now

  12. Unfortunately, for the English match, the BBC had the worse biased commentators in rugby history, Brian Moore and Eddie "I wish I was English" Butler!

Then in the studio, you had the the most biased pundit in Gussgott and the most biased presenter in Invardale!

    They only see one team.............ENGLAND!

Now, with the other 3 nations, you have Johnathan Davies, Kieth Wood and Gregor Townsend in the pundit studio who say it as they see it!

I think it is an ENGLISH thing myself!
