Fog delays start of PGA Championship
The beginning of today's PGA Championship at Whistling Straits, Kohler, Wisconsin has been delayed after heavy fog prevented the opening group from teeing off at the scheduled start time.
Bo Van Pelt and Jason Day were amongst the players due to tee off today at 7:00am local time, 12:00pm GMT, but clearly play won't be able to take place until the fog has lifted. "Once it is clear to play, the first starting time will be 30 minutes following that time," officials said.
So far, play has already been delayed by more than an hour and a half, meaning the entire field of 156 players may struggle to complete their round today. In that case, the opening round would be concluded tomorrow.
Tiger Woods was due to tee off this hour, at 14:20 local time; the world No. 1 will be eager to get out there and try to atone for last week's miserable display at the WGC Bridgestone Invitational.
