Does anyone know how foil heluim balloons hold up outside overnight...the temps are to be in the mid 60s overnight and then high 70s during the day. What about in the rain, can they stay afloat? Thanks

  1. When helium balloons get cool, they will sink, they will get smaller.  As the sun shines on them & they get warmer, the helium will get more active & float again.  I was told years ago, if they need perked up for a party, just warm them up with a blow dryer.  Had to do it when I bought some for my daughter's birthday in January.  They got cold & sunk, but perked back up once I got them in a warm room.

Rain sticking to the balloons will tend to weight them down.

  2. Sounds like a party...

Fill the ballons only 3/4 way.

In the coolness of the night the heluim will expand.  Fill your balloons at the same room temp as what your party will be.
