Fol Hollow expected to shine in Betdaq Haydock Park Apprentice Training Series Handicap
Fol Hollow is likely to prevail in the Betdaq Haydock Park Apprentice Training Series Handicap (Part of The Racing Excellence Initiative) at Haydock in England on Friday, July 6, 2012. A cash prize of £2,264 has been set for the winner of the class-5 event.
A total of seven runners will be seen in action over the 5 furlong race, which is scheduled to start at 18:45 GMT. The ground has become soft due to rain, which will benefit Fol Hollow more compared to his rivals. He has been given a general starting price
of 7 to 1 and the punters should place some bets on him today, especially if more rain comes down.
The seven-year-old gelding has got a lot of experience, as he has participated in a total of 62 races in his career. However, his strike rate is poor, as he has managed to win just 10 events whereas finished runner up on six occasions. Moreover, he has also
secured the third spot on eight times, which shows what he is capable of doing.
The David Nicholls’ trainee got off to an impressive start to his career back in 2007. He was competitive right from the very first race and challenged his opponents for victories consistently.
In his maiden outing, the Irish runner was given a starting price of 12 to 1 and there were some fierce competitors up against him. Despite that, he gave a tough time to them and finished runner up by one length and three quarters.
Just a few races later, Fol Hollow brought up his first win and ended the 2007 season on a high. He participated in nine events back then, winning thrice whereas his other performances were also quite impressive.
However, the Monashee Mountain’s son was unable to carry on with the same momentum in the second season of his career and saw many ups and downs that year. His skills were polished after that and he came back strongly next year.
Consistency has been an issue for the seasoned gelding, but he appears to be in good rhythm this year. He has participated in three events, winning a couple of them and there is a solid chance for him to bring up another victory today. His partner will be
Shirley Teasdale, who is also carrying the winning momentum at the moment.
