Question:

Folks from Dublin: Cost of Living?

I've been back with my parents for a couple of years due to illness and starting to get better and I'm just wondering (if people don't mind telling) what amounts someone living in a one bed flat/bedsit pays on the following...

Rent; ESB; Gas; TV; Bins; Food.

Is there anything else I should add to my figures?

Thanks a million :o)

  1. It depends on which part of the country you are thinking of

On average it will take over £100 per week for rent and services.

It might be cheaper in the North of England.

By the way love, Your comment on shame and spirituality the other day. I have discovered that we are not alone.Others concur and it is an international reaction to religion. You blessed me with your reply .

  2. depending on where you live  in dublin from 600 to 1000 if you share if your on your own around a 1000 rent.  bins is normally covered sometimes tv,  ntl is 20 a month, esb depending on your life style but about 80-100 a month, gas maybe nothing as few places have it.  food who knows how much do you eat.  suffice it to say Dublin is expensive, rent will be the biggest killer but basically everything is more expensive than the rest of europe with the exception of Paris/london.  hope this helps

  3. to tell you the truth it's just an awful lot of money

  4. we're renting a 2 bed... looking for 1 bed now...

that would be between 1000 and 1200 euros for a decent 1 bed in the centre or not very far from it. out of city centre might be even 200 euro less.

plus about 100 euro (for 2 people) for electricity every 2 months

plus around 70 euro for tv and broadband

food shouldn't be more than 50-70 euro a week if you don't splash too much

it's basicly cheaper to share a place with somenody

you can look the appartments up on daft.ie - the best irish website if you look for a place to live in
