Follow The Flag to crush down the competition in the Follow Totepool On Facebook And Twitter Handicap
The Class 4 Follow Totepool On Facebook And Twitter Handicap has brought together fourteen three-year-old and above contestants for the £4,075 trail at Pontefract race course on Monday, 22nd October, 2012 over a mile, two furlongs and six yards. The candidates filed in for the test are from different racing venues and not all of them have raced at Pontefract before.
A lucrative option in the field is the eight-year-old chestnut gelding, Follow The Flag. He has won and then scored second in the last two races that he took part in after ending seventh at Pontefract in his third last attempt.
He has been active twenty times ever since the new season shot in, and has bagged the prize money of a race only once. The Alan McCabe trained finished seventh in the Book Your 22nd October Totesport Package Handicap on 20th September, 2012 at Pontefract race course over a mile.
The race was won by, Shadowtime, who defeated the runner-up, Fastnet Storm, by 2 ¼ lengths in the field of thirteen.
The favourite entry, Desert Romance, ended third after the winner.
Traditionally’s Irish chestnut gelding then went all out in the AJA Fegentri Gentlemen Amateur Riders’ Handicap on 3rd October, 2012 at Nottingham race course over a mile and two furlongs.
Taking off from the second stall, the eight-year-old stayed on the inside of the track, and took the right shift with the final two furlongs still to go. Travelling well and staying strong, he won over, Spyder, by 1 ¼ lengths.
Coming at terms with the third position was, Maybeme.
The chestnut gelding out of, Iktidar, lost the form by the time he became the part of the line-up for the BDN Construction Apprentice Handicap on 10th October, 2012 at Nottingham over a mile and two furlongs.
Riding with jockey, David Bergin, he embraced the second position due to the 1 ¾ lengths by which Almuftarris won the race in companion ship with, Ashley Morgan.
Follow The Flag is backed by 10 to 1 odds for making an impact with jockey, Luke Morris. The two will take up the challenge from the fourteenth stall.
