I posted yesterday as one of the TB yearlings I look after had jumped out of his field (I assume, because there is no other possible way he could have gotten out) and injured himself quite badly. He has never tried to escape before.
I checked the 2 year old he is in the field with this morning and he has scraped his neck and shoulder with barbed wire, quite deeply. (These are not my horses, and if they were they would not be within a mile of barbed wire!!)
It is making me wonder now whether there is some kind of animal worrying them. They are in the field with 2 other older horses and both of them are absolutely fine. I don't think it's a case of rough and tumble playing between the two youngsters as their injuries don't really add up to that. I live in Ireland by the way, so there are no wild bears or anything like that!!
Any thoughts?? thanks
