Follow up to question about girls losing their virginity to older men?

A little while ago, I asked a question about girls losing their virginity to older guys. I said that, based on things I hear and read, it seems like girls often lose their virginity at very young ages (like 14 or 15) to men as old as their 20’s. My question was: How common is this really? All of the answers were good, except for one in which the answerer simply stated that s*x between a man in his 20’s and a girl of 14 or 15 is illegal and that the men are pervs and should go to jail.

I know it’s illegal. But that does not mean that it doesn’t happen every day. The legality of it has nothing to do with my question. So my new question is: WHY was that answer chosen by voters as the best answer????

Also, to people who agree with the person chosen for best answer- Are such men really pervs? Very many 14 or 15 year old girls have the appearance of being much older. They look like grown women and that is why grown men are attracted to them.

The age of consent is really just there to protect the innocent from perverts. People mature at different ages, some are ready fr s*x at 13 some aren't ready till their twenties.

I think it all depends on the different maturity of the two peple. I personally was 15 and my boyfriend was nearly 18 but we were in love and had a proper relationship. We have now ben married for a long time.

I think that at the age of 14/15 girls and boys are usually different in physical maturity. I remember at the school dance, the girls had their 'little' boyfriends who were the same age and I was thinking 'eww, they just look like little boys'. The girls were about 2 foot higher, and the boys looked so young like about 10 years old to me.

At 14 I looked quite old, and people thought I was at least 18. I didn't dress tartly, but I was already 5'8 by then.

Yes, they are perverts because most men have had more than enough experience by the age of 20 to know what to say to win a girls trust, as where a virgin only thinks about love are very naive and trusting and wouldn't prosecute because they think the person loves them. It happened to my niece, she got pregnant by a 45 year old pedophile who had already spent time in prison for this type of conduct, at the age of 16, and because she cried he loves me, there was nothing we could do about it. He's long gone now, and she is raising a child on her own. Actually Venessa, if your under the age of 16 in Michigan, it is considered rape, even if it's consentual, it's called statuatory rape. Ever heard of it?! ;-)

They were/are gonna have s*x with older men anyway when they turned legal age-- regardless of what the legal age was. This is what women want!!   And of course The 10 Commandments of Feminism readily adopted by American gov't tell us first and foremost- 'Give women what they want.'

Re your question of how common is it for a girl in her early teens to lose her virginity to a man in his 20s? I think it is very common, unfortunately. I believe it is less than 10% but greater than 5% based on girls I know and talk to. It's  anecdote so that is why the 5-10% range.

Re your question " Are such men really pervs? ": yes.

It doesn't matter how old a girl looks if she is 14-15, it is Wrong for an adult man to go there with her and he should know that.

What does a man in his 20s want with a 14-15 yo? He is using her. I know it and so do you. Everyone here knows that.

I'm guessing that maybe the reason Baba Yaga's answer was voted best is because she said something similar and was critical of you implying that a 20-something man having s*x with a teenager is not bad and trying to somehow justify it.

p.s. It's rape when someone does not give consent to sexual activity or is unable to. "Actual rape" does not have to be violent.

But older guy with a mid teen is still WRONG!

Mid teens THINK they are mature, may appear mature.... but they are not really.  They would be participating in such a sexual encounter for the wrong reason... well, a different reason as to if they were with someone of the same age.

And the fact that an older fellow takes advantage of this is wrong. Why doesn't he pick up a girl from nightclub instead?

VanessaZ- but its the reasoning behind WHY she would choose to have s*x that is the point! She could well be flown into lala land by an older guy easy.

Minors who look - or think they look - older than they are is not the issue.  That doesn't excuse the behavior of someone who should accept responsibility for himself.

You cannot separate the two.  Just because it "happens every day" does not make it okay, and it is the responsibility (gee, there's that word again!) of the legal adult to look out for MINORS.

ETA:  Oh my God, Vanessa is so wrong!!  A 14-yr-old girl CANNOT legally consent to s*x; therefore it IS rape whether she wants it or not.  At least on this planet.  Nice try, though, toots.

ETA #2:  I know, and I don't care.  Just because you want to blame teenage girls does not mean you can.  Emotionally healthy, mature grown men are not sexually attracted to children, period.  Okay, statutory rape.  It's still illegal.

Personally, myself and the girls I'm friends with don't fit in this category because we all waited until we were at least 18.

And I think that 95% of girls who are 14-15... LOOK 14-15. And if the man is so blind/in denial/thinking with the wrong head for the time being that he can't "see" that... then when they open their mouths, it becomes 100% clear. (This is not meant to be offensive to 14-15 year old girls... you're SUPPOSED to act and look 14-15, it's perfectly fine.)

In short, I think there are very, VERY few exceptions to this. Vast majority of the time, it is a guy in denial and with some serious issues of his own.

Maturity is a huge issue, here. There is a saying that when you're 14-18, you think you know everything. I used to fit into that, too. By the time I was about 20, I realized I actually didn't know much of anything, haha. That's how it goes, that's how people usually mature. My mom was an exception, she was acting like an adult at about 16, but she had a hard childhood and was taking care of younger siblings as a mother figure and working from about 11 and up. And she still had no desire for older men, she knew they weren't for her at that time in her life.

I think it depends on the girl. It certainly wasn't common at all in my crowd of friends - most of us lost our virginities to guys who were around our own age. There are probably lots of girls who lose their virginity in scenarios like you've described, but I don't think it's common enough to represent a typical deflowering.

You guys are forgetting its not all the guys fault for having s*x with a 14 year old. SHE CHOSE TO HAVE s*x WITH HIM. Otherwise it would be considered as rape. So let her be.
