  1. fuel prices are not that high

its goverment taxes that are high

tax on one liter is 66p+vat

    in america they pay 4$ a gallon =£2. 05

in GB ITS about £6 per gallon or 12$

  2. lets just stick a couple of HGV's on every forecourt in the country for a few days and leave them there, the whole country take a couple of days off work as we cant afford to get to work owing to criminally high fuel costs

  3. No

66% of the fuel you buy is TAX.

    Boycott Britain instead!

  4. I think a better form of protest would be to stop driving your car.

Let me know how it goes.

  5. There was an interesting sound bite on the radio this morning which put across an idea I've never considered before - I missed the speaker!

But he said that these fuel companies were essentially owned by pensions companies and therefore we (the UK) needed to ensure that the businesses kept up the profits or else the value of our pensions would fall!

  6. Why bother - we'd only be putting money into BPs pockets - and they made just as much.

But, if you work out a profit per litre, they don't make that much money...

  7. just the narrow minded comment i would expect from a10year old

  8. Its nice to see a british (bit of dutch too) company doing well out there.

  9. it is not obscene if you are one of the million shareholders.

  10. They make loads of money and invest loads of money. The huge prices is due to tax, not the price charged by the oil companies. They could halve the cost of fuel and we would still pay over a quid a litre becuase of government tax!
