  1. I don't necessarily recommend going to them to follow up.  A phone call will work just as well.  Often, when people would follow up their application in person, they did not get their point across and came off as needy.  Also, it wasted my time.

What I do recommend is calling them.  A simple phone call to tell them that you are excited about the possibility of working for their company.  Tell them that if there is anything on your application that needs to be clarified, they should not hesitate to ask.

A good way to open the conversation is simply tell them you are checking up on your application status.  If they have not yet looked at it, you could give them your name and briefly tell the person why you are qualified.  Again, do not waste their time.  Keep it brief.  The simple call will make you stand out amongst the others.

  2. Simply ask for a manager/director. Tell them your name and say that you were checking on your application you turned in last week. If they say they can not find it, ask if you could fill out another one and give it to them.

I hire people all the time, and when people come in to check on a application, I generaly like them better.

    Hope this helps!!!

  3. What kind of job?  Was there a deadline for applications?  Is it a store or restaurant where they get a bunch of apps at any given time?  Sometimes a week isn't enough time, but you could always call and ask if they've received your application.  This will cause them to look in their stack, and just may put yours on top.  If it's an open spot in a company where there was a deadline, they may not have begin reviewing apps yet, but the same thing could work (calling, etc.).  It also shows you are interested and motivated.

  4. just ask for a manager. and say i filled out an application and i was wondering if you have looked at it.. i reall would like to work here

  5. "Hi,  my name is _________________  I turned in an application last week and was woundering if the position has been filled".  "Oh it has'nt".  " Well in that case,  is there any questions about my application that I can answer for you while I'm here today?"  Keep in mind to smile the whole time,  don't ever put your hands in your pockets, make eye contact, be as friendly as humanly possible even if everyone there is frowning and in a bad mood, and show confidence.  People are looking for a winner to come and work for them.

  6. Don't go down there, a simple call will do. You just say that you filled out an application last week, and that you're still very excited about working there, and ask if there's any other information the may need from you.

  7. It's a good idea just to call the person who interviewed and let them know how much you enjoyed the experience of being interviewed, and how much you liked the company. It's a subtle reminder to the interviewer, but also shows a little initiative.....

Umm..OK do that after toy have interviewed....but still call and state that you sent in your application, are very interested in the position and would love to arrange an interview....
