Where are the cheapest restaurants or food markets in Venice and Rome?

What's the best/cheapest transportation downtown from Ciampino airport in Rome and from Treviso airport in Venice?

What to buy in these cities, what are they known for?

  1. Buy glass in Venice. Also a nice memento is a painting from one of the artists in San Mark

  2. firstly you can't eat badly in either Rome or Venice and you'll fins some very cheap trattorias in both cities. Venice is a little more expensive but does have a fantastic market near to the Rialto bridge.

The cheapest transport from Ciampino is grabing the train from Ciampino train station to termini. I think the cost is around 4 euros and there a shuttle bus right outside the airport to the station. For Venice you'll need to catch a bus from the airport to Piazzale Rome and from there a water bus.

Rome is more known for it's antiquities and I don't think you can buy a piece of the colloseum just yet. venice is murano glass but it's pretty expensive.

if you're also looking for cheap accommodation take a look at http://www.holiday-velvet.com/venice otherwise there are plenty of hostels around.

  3. That would be Mc Donald's, but there are tons of cafes where you can have sandwiches or a slice of pizza and a expresso.

Venice is known for their glass, there are tons of hand crafted glass wear shops. Also venice is know for their masks. there are a few handcrafted stores as well.

Rome well rome has everything, but it probably sells more religious stuff then anywhere else in the world.
