  1. Ants on a log: fill celery with cream cheese, put raisins on it.

  2. make your own pizza

get dough from a pizzaria...have the kids put on all different toppings anything they want.  If you use different cheeses & stuff cook it afterwards & serve it.  Or cook the dough & then have them put toppings on it...fun stuff like licorice, frosting, snacks, gummy bears (you can substitute the pizza dough with cookie dough & do the same thing)

    Have Fun!

  3. I read 2 books, The Little Red Hen and we made bread from scratch. The children loved it because it related to the story. The next day, we read The Little Red Hen Makes A Pizza and made a pizza. It was a wonderful lesson and activity for the children. They learn to write recipes and follow directions; all the while cooking and having fun!

  4. prepare some p-nut butter play dough.

look it up on your search engine and you can find some great recipes for it.

    It's fun, it's easy, & it's edible!

  5. depends on the age of the children...the yoiunger the less complex of course.. I have made everything from puddign ( milk and pudding mix), to cookies, to having children put the cream cheese on there own crackers.  Basically every recipe can be adjusted to the childrens comprehsion. The best thing to comment on is the more that you cook with children the better they get. I suggest that you start with once every other week and then once a week to even if yo are comfortable twice a week. You could make grilled cheese sandwiches, Rainbow stew, Pancakes, Scrambled eggs, Egg salad, Tuna on crackers, and of course it is summer so Ice cream in a bag.  Yummy....

  6. ive done icecream, cakes, jelly, sandwiches, pizza's, playdough (they cant eat that)..... and biscuit

  7. This is a long term activity but is very beneficial.  Buy a small vegetable plant, such as mini tomatoes that can grown in a pot and doesn't need too much care.  Each child take turns to water the plant, remove the dead leaves....Every day point out the growth (measure even) Few months later, they can all eat a tomato!
