Food and Energy Bars for Swimming?

I am a competetive swimmer and I was wondering what the best ways to conserve energy at meets is. What type of food should you eat, and what are the best Energy Bars?

  1. i swim as well i even have a meet tommarrow after noon i find best to get a caelback water bottle and fill it half way up with G2 then fill the rest with water you will be able to to this twice with the nornal size i may not tast the best as normal but it will keep you hidrated and if possible eat a pasta the night before the meet or at lunch if its a afternoon meet but do not eat high calorie pasta sauce with it just eat a light tomato sauce so you do not weigh your self down. eat power bars thoughout eat a viraaty i really like Powerbars and noral trail mix. trail mix is good to snack on inbetween event has protine from the nuts but has a little sweet with a little chocolate. just experiment with a few high protine snacks to find your favorites that help you swim the best you can. good luck it might take you a while but with me once i did i had my best times ever
