  1. Food affects the flavor of your breastmilk 4 to 6 hours after ingestion.  That's what the dr said anyway.

  2. You mean after you eat?  Well, as fast as you can smell it on your breath.  Well, okay - the sugar is pretty fast, within 20 minutes your body has to regulate the up tic in glucose, other foods not as fast.  Think of garlic, how soon to you start to sweat out the garlic?  About that long for breastmilk since our mammary gland are modified sebaceous glands.  It's all pretty personal, depends on how fast your body processes food and breaks it down of course.

  3. It takes on average around four hours, but like previous posters mentioned, it can be more or less depending on your metabolism.  The flavor differences in breastmilk wouldn't be so intense or isolated, though, that your milk would taste of soda.  Unless, of course, you're eating and drinking nothing but soda, haha.

  4. Three hours after you have had food or a drink is when it travels to the breast-milk. That is why they say you should wait six hours after drinking alcohol before you nurse your child or else pump breast-milk. Also, there are some foods that can make your milk taste different but soda is not one of them. I would just be careful on how much you drink because soda is not good for you so it really isn't good for the baby.

  5. I'm guessing 30-60 mins. Longer if its a big meal as it takes longer to digest.
