  1. you can buy drinks such as ovaltine that help you sleep, this is in the UK so if your in the US im not sure

however, look for malty hot drinks, they help

and watch what your eating/drinking for a good few hours before

dont have a large meal and stay away from caffeine and sugar

  2. milk and turkey... thats y after thanksgiving meals we fall asleep soon... saw it on a good eats episode on  food network.

  3. My mom gives me Sleepy Time Tea. You can buy it at wal-mart. It has special herbs in it to make you sleep and stay asleep!! It really works too. I'm 11. I love it it taste yummalicious:-)

  4. tea.

  5. to answer ur question,no.there are technically no foods that put u to sleep.

no do not drink tea,tea is high in caffeine.

    as a fellow 13 yr old,i understand.

try listening to soft, flowing mozart music or any other that is lik mozart.

dont eat to much b4 sleeping, the stomach trys digesting and ur brain cant concentrate on it while trying to sleep.

make sure ur room temperature is not too cold or hold, mayb turn on a fan or something, but no noisy ac's.

if u cant sleep for a prolonged time, talk to ur doctor or parents,u may hav isnomia,

  6. First of all, you need to check for food or drinks that keep you awake such as chocolate, sodas, tea or coffee with caafeine. You should have no caffeine after about 12 PM, 2 PM at the latest.

Then look at activities that create stress, anxiety, or excitement. Plan your evening so that you can unwind. Non-competative exercise at a gentle pace, reading, talking with friends, writing etc. Avoid TV's Computers, movies etc.

Then try eating pasta in the evening.  If you still are having trouble see about having an herb tea with valerian and chamomile such as Celestial Seasonings "Sleepy Time- Extra". A nice cup of tea can also form a relaxin routine.

If you still ahve trouble, try taking Valerian, a low cost suplement. Take two with lunch and two with dinner.

Two other important things to think about.

    1) Adolescents brain chemistry reall is set up for late nights and mornings sleeping late. You must make a serious effort if you are going to work against this biology.

    2) Sleepiness is largely a learned response, and a relaxing, consistent routine can help you become sleepy. The opposite is true. If you don't feel sleepy, get up, GET OUT OF THE BED, and read or do some other relaxing activity. If you lay in bed wide awake you make be creating yourself as an insomniac.

If you continue to have problems, have yourself checked for sleep apnea by a sleep specialist.
