Food for building muscle?

I've started working out again and i wanna shed weight and gain muscle but what foods should i eat? My brother eats alot of pasta for when he works out so im considering that but is there other things that is simple and tastes good for losing weight and gaining muscle?

  1. Protein and Protein Shakes but make sure you have well balanced meals

    Carbs are fine if you want to gain more weight while becoming muscular


  2. Its all about balancing your food, think of it this way. You need 40% proteins, 40% carbs, 20% fat.

    What food is high in protein?

    A: Tuna, Chicken breast, Eggs

    What food is high in carbs?

    A: Pasta, brown rice, Oatmeal

    So... what you do, is eat tuna + pasta so that you have a balanced diet. Your body needs protein, but can't use protein without carbs, have to much carbs and your going to get fat without the proteins, this is of course that your working out aswell, eat this diet without work outs and your going to get fat anyway, but this is the kind of diet you wanna get to build up, pasta/tuna is extremely good for this :). Of course do not forget your 5 a day (fruit+veg), your 2 litres of water a day aswell. Remember to say off foods thats are fatty like cheese that does you no good at all unless its goats cheese or cottage, and try to keep your diet as balanced as possible, remember to keep your diet consistant every day, meaning, don't eat loads one day and little the next or this'll do you no justice.

    but other than body building shakes, you wont find a better source than tuna for muscle building/weight loss.

  3. No pasta.

    Use whey protein hydrolysate (you can buy it in any store). It makes you gain muscles very fast. Just follow the instructions on the label.
