Food getting stuck in the extraction tooth-hole ??

i used a water pik & i squirted it out, but im so afraid there might be something left.

if there is, will the gum push it out?

  1. rinse hard with salt water on that side, if it hasn't been too long then you are fine even if food has stuck in there, just try to stay away from food that will get stuck and don't chew on that side, you are looking to avoid a condition where the food interacts with the raw part of your gums and creates a infection


  2. As long as you use the water pik and swish gently with warm salt water, you should be fine. Whatever you do, DO NOT try to "suck" it out... making a sucking motion with your mouth or using a "sucking" device will alter the pressure equilibrium in your mouth, which can pull stitches or open healing wounds. Use the pik religiously, swish daily, and you aught to be okay. :)

  3. No the gum won't push it out it will close around it and possibly cause an infection but if you're using the water pick and gargling with salt water you should be fine. No worries!
