Question:

Food ideas for teenage party needed!?

I am hosting a party after the 8th grade formal dance for my kids and their friends. I need some ideas for foods to serve- I don't need to serve a full meal but do want to have plenty of neat snacks and stuff.

The party will have a tropical theme so food to match that theme would be good but I am up for any ideas for cool snacks that teenagers will enjoy. I want to make it a little fancy since this is their first formal dance so I want to make the after-party special.

Thanks!

  1. I good idea would be for them to have a VARIED of choices to pick from. HotWings will be good as well as chips and dip. As for the drinks since its a "formal" party you should buy plastic wine glasses and fill them up with crushed ice and have many flavor soda and drinks for them to drink. Then buy as whole bunch of coffee stirrers and they will be able to pretend to have their own little cocktail.

  2. When it comes to teenagers, pizza is easiest, cheapest and it's usually thier favorite food. Hawaiian pizza would be cool (ham or pepperoni & pinapples for toppings) Maybe have a pinapple pizza or 2 for vegetarians., and some standard pepperoni pizza. You could make delivery fancy by serving it on plates. Key Lime pie would be good for dessert. Tropical fruit cocktail would be good too.

  3. Fruit kebobs on bamboo skewers - you can stick the skewers into a fresh pineapple, and use it as the centerpiece!  ..... Get some fresh coconuts and break up the meat on a plate. It's a good snack, and most of your friends have probably never tried fresh coconut ......

    FANCY FRANKS

1 (12 oz) bottle chili sauce

1 (10 oz) jar grape jelly

1 lb. hot dogs, cut into 1-2" pieces

1 (13 oz) can drained pineapple chunks

Combine chili sauce & grape jelly in saucepan;  simmer together for 15 min (or until melted).  Add hot dogs & pineapple.  Simmer 15 min.  Serve in crockpot to keep warm, with toothpicks to spear them

    LUAU CHEESE BALL

    1 8-oz. cream cheese, softened

    8 oz. shredded cheddar cheese

1 small can crushed pineapple, drained

    1 TB. chopped parsley

Blend cheeses & pineapple together really well.  Form into a ball and cover with the chopped parsley.  Serve on a platter with crackers....

  4. Some tropical drinks and great and you can always serve them with the umbrellas in the glass.

Also, I think barbecued meat on sticks (I forgot what's it called) is great to eat because its easy to eat. Calamari is great too! and you can serve it with sweet and sour sauce.

Basically grilled meat is great to serve! like ribs, steaks, etc.

  5. Hawaiian pizzA!!! WOO! XD and some tropical drinks like non-alcoholic punch and some barbecue ...roast hotdogs! and corn chips!

  6. finger foods are the best.  chips, veggies, etc and dip, mozorella sticks, potato skins, mini quiche, chicken fingers.

you say a tropical theme, what about fruit, multi colored jello squares, fried bananas, nut mix, dried fruit, etc.
