Food in the carry-on??

I am taking cookies for a gift in my carryon, for the person I'm staying with in Paris. They are moravian cookies, in a little tin thing. I don't want to put in my checked bag b/c I will only be there for a day and there is a good chance my baggage will be delayed. Are such cookies allowed in my carry-on?

they are very similar to the ones in this picture:

  1. If anything go to tsa.gov and check if they are allowed, maybe when you get to the security check point take them out and ask the security person there..allow them to inspect the tin.

  2. Canned or jarred goods such as soup, sauces, peanut butter, fruits, vegetables and jellies -- im sure this includes cookies-- Yes - 3 oz. or smaller container. this is for ur carry on.
