  1. You have to put a lot work into a food plot whereas bait you can just flop on the ground and go.

  2. The biggest difference is you have to keep putting out bait, but food crops keep growing for you if you set them up right. My apple trees are great for attracting deer. The law in some places, including here in Virginia, says it's illegal for me to throw a bag of apples on the ground, but it is perfectly legal for me to grow apple trees knowing deer will come to them. I see no moral difference. Killing is killing, and I will keep killing deer. The laws are stupid in my opinion.

  3. There is no difference from a food plot and a bait pile- sometimes I believe that the hunters with the big dollars and are able to lease large areas and plant several food plots, have a great deal of influence with the legislators in their state, and and influence the hunting reglulations in ways that favor them- they don;t want a local hunter to throw out a bag of corn that cost 5 bucks and pull any of their deer to it. Of course this is just an opinion and is not based on any type of fact, just my thinking on it- .

  4. They may be indistinguishable in some cases. In others, food plots planted, let's say, by the side of the road or at other edges can't be hunted directly but are within easy reach of the critters for nocturnal feeding.

  5. Ones illegal in some places and one isn't. That's the only difference to me.

  6. well if its there naturally there you cant really call it baiting bc the animals always go there, vs a big pile of corn you put there to have them come in where you want them. but i guess it could be cuz its basically natural baiting.
