Question:

Food poisoning at Toronto Airport?

by  |  earlier

On April 18th we dined at the British Airways Club Lounge in Toronto Airport. I had fishcakes and two hours into our flight home to the UK I was taken seriously ill with food poisoning. BA are disclaiming any responsibility and have taken over a month to address my concerns.

I now want to take it to the next level. Who is the appropriate government body to approach, and what is the address of the Airport Authority to which I might address my complaint?

Any helpful pointers would be gratefully received!

  1. Food poisoning is very difficult to determine. It could have been something else you ate as much as 24 hours before you were ill. It could have been something you touched, e.g. not washing your hands after using the toilet and then touching your mouth or food. Lots of possibilities.

PS I'm not trying to defend BA. They're c**p.

  2. You most likely will have a very difficult time proving your case. Do you know of any others who ate the fishcakes that became ill, did you see a doctor and what were his findings, where and what else did you eat that day, was the BA lounge or the kitchen and the fishcakes inspected for the cause of your food poisoning, etc, etc.? Without some kind of concrete proof that the food you ate in the BA lounge was the source of your food poisoning I don't believe you have a case. If on the other hand you think you can prove your case, you might want to contact an attorney or solicitor to advise you regarding your case or you might check the below website. Good luck.
