Food shortage!?

since when is their a food shortage?

why now of all times?

Has been for millenia.   Just something the media have decided to turn their attention to now.    Remember the millions dieing in Ethiopa in the '80's?   It's just coming around again to our attention.    Supposedly there is a disease in rice crops now though.    Possibly thank GM foods for that.   When all the seeds are exactly the same without any variances that let some thrive while others die as usual, either all thrive or all die.

I heard about that too, IDK if it's true...I can't find a story on it anywhere. I'm dying to know too, that's pretty SAD if there really is a food shortage!

Wal Mart in portions of Georgia I believe, have had to limit the number of bags of rice, customers can purchase.

Farmers are increasingly turning their land into corn production for this insane ethanol replacement for gas. They can earn 3 times for corn what they did for rice.

Less rice, drives the price up, since there is less of it.

Now there's some disease killing off the honey bee's, which means an increase in about 102 products that require honey.

And it just goes on and on...............the real food shortages, should be felt by next fall.

There is no food crisis

The world produces more than enough food

It is what happens to it that causes the crisis.

More than Half is diverted for the production of Ethanol.

The problems originate from the Top down so there is no solution

But those who lead us also own this industry (both the petrol and the cars)and as yet there is plenty of money to made with these engines

there are other ways to make fuel

keep deep eating deep fries and use the old oil
