  1. ☻Dried Pasta

    ☻Mozzarella cheese

    ☻Parmesan cheese

    ☻Wines

    ☻Espresso coffee

    ☻Biscotti

    ☻Extra virgin Olive oil

    ☻Dried Porcini

    ☻Balsamic Vinegar

    ☻Limoncello

    <*-*>

  2. I would ask for a good balsamico (vecchio) and Parmigiano Reggiano (aged 30 months) or something like vin santo and cantuccini. While the 25 year old balsamico is avaliable in the US, it's very expensive. Some of the specialty balsamicos may not be as common. Taking both the 10 and 25 year cherry would illustrate the effect of aging.

Products like limoncello or nochino would be good choices, but home production is much better than the commercial brands I am familiar with.

  3. I'd choose:

    Parmesan cheese

Dried pasta made with eggs ( like tagliatelle all'uovo )

Pesto sauce ( made with basil )

    Extra-vergin Olive oil

Wine ( Chianti or Brunello di Montalcino, even if they are a bit too expensive)

If you're going to Italy at Christmas I suggest you Panettone and Pandoro

Limoncello from Sicily or/and Mirto from Sardinia (liqueurs )

If you're going to Naples Rhum Babà in glass jars ( find them in a cake shop, or patisserie)

Parma ham ( I suggest it: too special )

A slice of Focaccia to eat on the way back ^^

    Paté made with olives

    Balsamic winegar from Modena

Buffalo Mozzarella or simple mozzarella and Mortadella ( Mozzarella and Mortadella must be conserved in the fridge)

  4. Yes, i would have them bring me real parmesan and real buffalo mozarella, though that wouldn't work... needs to fridgerated... There isn't really anything else i wanted from there...

  5. You must be more precise.

Italy is non the country of supermarkets.

Cheese, wine, pasta, vegetables are different place by place.

To buy mozzarella out of caserta-napoli-salerno is possible but is something like mozzarella.

So if you want parmiggiano or prosciutto. You could buy it in Naples but sure has a taste different from the original buyed directly in Parma. And so on.

Well.. where they bring something from ?

  6. We live in Germany but I am Italian. In Italy we buy

    Salami like Felino or finocchiona

    Taralli, cantucci. In winter Pandoro.

    Wine

  7. - Babà al rum

    - Mozzarelle di Bufala

    - Pomodori pachino

    - Prosciutto San Daniele

    - Pesto alla genovese
