Food stamps in Chicago?

Do you need to bring in your work pay stub to the office for food stamps? Any other docs needed?

Please, do not answer this question unless you know for a fact the answer. People whove done it, office workers, etc. Only please!

  1. Is there a website or phone number to call?  In the state i live in there is a website you can apply for that kind of stuff.  Also you can print off the forms you need.  More than likely you will need your id, ss card and pay stubs.  If they need any information other than that then they will ask.  But it seems unlikely they will need anything else.

  2. u need to bring at least a month worth of check stubs a rent receipt,social security cards for everyone in household,u might need a birth cert., and ur lease, call the office and ask what all u need to bring so u don't have to make a second trip

When you go to sign up, they will give you a list of the information when you get there.  You can make copies and mail in or bring it in.  I brought my state id, social security card proof of my income (I was getting unemployment) and rent receipt if applicable.  It didn't take too long for me to receive my stamps.
