Food stamps?

I just recently lost my job and was unable to provide meals for myself, i have a 4 month old which is on wic but i have a question about food stamps how much do you get for you and one child? me i only get 215 but ppl tell me around here they get like almost double that.. and i was wondering what you got? cuz if i see im the lowest amount im going to call fia...thanks in advance

Seeing how a 4-month old should not be on solid food yet and wic is providing you formula(I'm assuming), $215 is more than adequate to feed one person for a month. I feed three for $10 more than that by budgeting and watching sales so that we can avoid public assistance.

Is the father of your child paying child support? If not, you need to file for it. Get a job. Why should the taxpayer support you?

215 is a lot for one child.  We get barely over 300 and have three children and two adults including myself.  Every bit helps especially with this economy!  I'm thankful for everything and no I am not one of those welfare moms.  Food stamps has a horrible stigma and people are too proud to apply in some cases and go hungry for no reason.  Everyone goes through hard times, it's just too bad some people take advantage of it and give it a bad name.
