Food to feed my kitten??Please Help!Fast!?

Question

I have a kitten that was a stray but now we have it as an outdoor cat.My parents won't let me buy cat food though.Today I fed him dry dog food and turkey taco meat.Is that bad for him??Will he eat rice or lettuce?What kinds of people food can I feed it?Thanks!

most likely if it is a stray its been  eating all that stuff anyways so i would just feed it stuff like rice lettuce meat fish simple stuff

Bread and some lean cooked meat (preferably not marinated). And plenty of fresh water.

Lean meats are best like chicken, turkey, and fish.  I wouldn't give him too much beef or steak cuz that can sometimes cause cats tummy aches is what my vet said.  Very little milk/dairy or none.  Idk why they won't let you buy cat food...maybe you could sell lemonade or something and use that money to buy cat food...when it's your money, they can't tell you what to do with it.

The cat will probably not eat rice and lettuce, but idk if they are particularly bad for cats.  Don't ever give him grapes though.

tuna...? whatever you do though don't give him milk. if you have a friend that has a cat then ask them to bring you a baggie of cat food for him and then soak it in water...

You need to buy cat food. But if you are going to choose not to  buy cat food, just give him the most natural meat you can find. A small bite of steak, a piece of unspiced turkey, a slice of chicken, some roast beef... The more natural and the less untouched by human hands the better it will be for the cat. If it is extremely processed or has added spices, the cats stomach will not handle the food as well and it will not be as nutritious. Cats don't eat vegetables or fruit (or grains). Give it lots of water and maybe occasionally some milk (but cow milk is bad; you can find special cat formula milk at some stores). Remember, cats are carnivores.

Seriously though, try to get some cat food.

You HAVE to feed your cat cat food. Dog food is unacceptable.

The nutrients that cats need are NOT in dog food and denying him cat food will harm the cat. It would be better for you to rehome him if you can't provide him with the proper nutrition.

The only other acceptable diet is a supplimented raw diet, which I doubt your parents are going to go for since they won't even buy the cat food.

It needs cat food. It's special made for cats for health.

I don't think you should feed it anymore dog food or taco meat. Maybe give it cans of tuna. He will not eat rice or lettuce, cats only eat meat. You have to tell your parents you need to buy cat food. Cats need the nutrients that are in it.

The dog food won't hurt him but turkey taco meat might be a little much.  Cats are carnivores and must have meat protein in their diet but dog food is better than no food at all.  Any meat scraps that you have would be good for him.

I would think meaty stuff.  Not something spicy, no sweet stuff.  And do not give him cows milk, it's bad for them.  That is only for an emergency, something temporary.

A kitten, how big?  How old?  You might need to get some cat milk for him/her.  You said you can't buy anything?

I know many cats that are loose and feral, they eat garbage. That means that you could feed your cat just about anything. Table scraps are the cheapest. Most cats can even crack open chicken bones to get the marrow...

don't feed him dog food it will cause runny p**p which will dehydrate him. turkey chicken and beef are fine. fish is excellent veggies are also good to milk causes runny p**p too. cats are lactose intolereant

The cat needs kitten food. Why? Cause without it he will not get taurine a essential emino acid for cats. Without taurine in their food a kitten will develop serious health problems. Also cats cannot synthesize taurine which means they cannot make it from other amnio accids if they do not have enough. If your parents will not let you buy cat food you need to take the cat to a shelter where it will find a home that will do what is necessary.
