Question:

Food to take with you during long distance drives

I'm planning to do long distance driving through Colorado, Wyoming and South Dakota. I've learned that the roads are remote and there are long stretches without a proper restaurant or fast food place. So what might be some of the food items that I can take with me in the car?

  1. If you have a cooler with you you'll be able to bring just about anything. If not- make sure you bring non-perishable foods. In general- I'd pack water, sandwiches, fresh fruit, whatever type of snacks you like. Be sure to include some napkins and handiwipe type things for cleaning up afterwards; spoon or knife if the food you pick out requires them. Dispose of your trash appropriately. It's best to take a drive break and actually get out of the car to eat and strecth your legs rather than eat while you're driving.
