Question:

Foods that can be fed to rabbits?

My rabbit is aprox. 1 year old. She does not eat her grain food, only the sun flower seeds that are in it. I have previously given her carrots, celery leaves, apple and a few other vegies...but now she won't eat them. I don't give my rabbit hay, but her hutch is on grass, with holes in the bottom, so it can eat grass whenever it wishes.

How can i get her to eat more food?

Is giving her only grass instead of Hay okay for her?

I have searched through google for sites but they all say different answers...

Thankyou in advance.

  3. trying contacting a rabbit breeders club, or go to a specialist pet store that sells pet food and ask what is recommended - you do not have to buy it, just find out what they recommend

  4. NEVER FEED RABBITS CABBAGE

    !!!!!

it makes them sick and can kill domesticated rabbits

We used to have the same problem with our rabbit, katie.

try spinach and cauliflower, rabbits have an obsession with cauliflower.

    Try maybe some dandelion leaves.

If the rabbit doe not eat these, try a different type of rabbit pellets, if she/he  does not eat any of these, she will when she is hungry enough. They will not let themselves starve with food right in front of them. They are smart

  5. try the little white clover flowers my rabbit loved them

  6. iv had rabbits b4 we fed them!!

    1.lettace

    2.carrots

    3.grass

    4.apples

  7. YOU DON"T GIVE YOUR RABBIT HAY that's like the all most important think to give. Their bodies work to process fiber which is hay. try going to rabbit.org and look at what rabbits should eat.

  8. You shouldn't be feeding a pellet mix with colored bits, seeds or nuts. It's the equivalent of junk food and they can choke on it.

Find a high quality plain pellet like oxbow http://www.oxbowhay.com/index.sp

You should be feeding unlimited grass hay. Regular grass is not going to be available enough 24/7 year round and too much can give them bloat.

Carrots and apple are fruits i.e . treats. Not veggies. You should feed parsley, cilantrol, carrot tops. More dark leafy greens. Celery is too watery and has little nutrients

When in doubt, refer to http://www.rabbit.org/care/index.html

  9. you can feed her:

  10. do not listen to rocker chick!!! you're not supposed to feed cabbage or iceberg lettuce to your rabbits.
