Foogy gear case on motorcycle?

Just bought an 82 virago but the gear cases are foggy and worn from use. I tried mothers polish and had no luck. Is there some awesome or miracle polish out there that will shine these puppies up

It's going to take tons of elbow grease.

Aluminum cases are commonly clear coated after the factory polish.

To get them to shine again means stripping off all the old clear coat, then polishing. After polishing, you either have to clear coat again or polish constantly. Bare aluminum with no protectant will oxidize rapidly.

I painted mine black instead. The other was way too much work.
