Fools silver like fools gold?

Is there such a thing as fools silver? I have a very heavy and shinny rock that looks a lot like silver. I read up on wikipedia and found this picture that looks alot lie my rock.

  1. There are several silver coloured metallic minerals, but they don't usually have the textures seen in the example.  Galena is very heavy, silver coloured, but it comes as cubic crystals - galena will make a black mark if you scratch it on a rough piece of porcellain.. Specular haematite is silvery and flakey in texture, and it will make a reddish-brown mark on porcellain. If it is silver it will make a silvery white mark.


  2. Silver is found naturally occurring as a metal, so I would not be surprised if you have a silver nugget. I cannot think of any naturally occuring mineral which would look like silver,i.e. fools silver.
