  1. You may have a deep bruise on the foot. This may have been caused by a pressure point in the shoes or you may have stepped on something (even if you did not feel it at the time).  If you were dancing in the shoes at the wedding, this could have caused the injury. This can be very painful since this is what gets the majority of your weight when you walk and run.  Rest and ice it as much as you can.  I would put your foot in a bucket of ice water for 5-10 minutes at a time which will help in the healing process.  Also try to stay away from high heel shoes for a while.  When it starts to heal, try to do some exercises that will strengthen the foot.  If you have ever done active dynamic warmups, you can do these in a very controlled fashioned or balancing on single leg exercises.  Very beneficial.

    Good Luck!

  2. If your toe next to the big toe is slightly longer then have "morton's toe" meaning the toe is longer and you'll get a corn at it's knuckle which can be removed but is painful particularly when running. It also means the nerve is under the bone unlike "normal feet". OR the wedding thing or other shoe related issues. For example Nike's are split just behind the ball of the foot throwing your weight forward quickly and as you fatigue in racing and workouts and footwork gets sloppy it will cause you to put more pressure on the ball and "slide" across it giving a bruised or skin burn type feeling. ice is ok but I'd say soak your foot in hot water and epsom salt. and see if you need new shoes. I used to toss mine every 400 miles to avoid foot injury and shin splints. I'm guessing you are tall so perhaps a shoe with decent heal support.
