Football. Ben Watson - TE?

Is Ben Watson worthy of a roster spot in a 12-Team H2H League?

I have both him and G. Olsen on my Team and I don't want to have 2 TE since we start only 1 every week.

Who's better?

Thanks!

  1. i think you have a better chance with watson because you can not trust the bears offense.  but watson is hurt a lot.  good luck

  2. Watson.....you never know who is gonna be throwing Olsen the ball every week. Plus who ever is throwing Olsen the ball will be a bum.

  3. I pick Watson to be the better TE. He is big and strong and yet he has speed, can catch pretty well, and can block. Remember he was the fastest tight end in the 2004 draft. Has great hands and body control. Can make over-the-shoulder catches and highlight reel grabs. Stretches the defense. Has good footwork when pass blocking, uses his strength well, and gives a great effort. Gets some push when run blocking. A hard worker and asset in the locker room. Olson doesn't have the benefit of having Tom Brady throwing to him, he has two horrible QBs. The Bears should have picked Flacco or Brain Brohm instead of Chris Williams.

  4. i'd take olsen over watson. even though watson is a patriot, he's injury-prone. he had ankle surgery in the off-season, and should be considered a #2 TE. grossman throws to olsen fairly often, so he'll at least get you some points. i'd watch the waiver-wire though, because you have low-end TEs, and you'll likely find someone emerge with a decent, consistent score donald lee did last year with the packers.

  5. I think Watson will put up better numbers for your team.

  6. better TE's

whitten, shockey, gates, winslow, cooley LJ smith,

  7. Look at Brady's stats with a TE. He never uses them. With Welker and Moss and now LaMont Jordan who has great hands out of the backfield Watson won't get as many touches as Olsen. Plus with Grossman finally on the bench and no great receivers in Chicago they will rely on Olsen a lot more. Especially on the goal line with a rookie RB (Forte) starting the year.

  8. Ben Watson will have a MUCH better year this year than last because everyone will be double teaming Moss and trying to stop Welker in the slot. But he won't put up Antonio Gates numbers because Brady spreads the ball too much.

Of the 2 I'd go with Watson. I think he'll give you a solid 6-8 a game with a couple 14 games thrown in while Olsen will give you a solid 4 with a few 10s thrown in.
