Football EPL Update: Stoke City vs. West Ham United Second Half Report
West Ham United have managed to open their scoring before going in to the break, thanks to Scott Parker for that perfect finish from the short range. While on the other hand, a bad start from the home side. No body at the Britannia Stadium looked satisfied with the way their team played first forty five minutes. Stoke City went in to the half time break with a goal conceded.
During the half time, Managers would be thinking to bring on some impact substitutes to change the course of the game. Here are the players that can be substituted.
Stoke City have got quite a lot of options in the bench. Asmir Begovic is the second choice keeper for the Potters. Danny Higginbotham and Any Wilkinson are the two defenders that can play for the Stoke City. Marc Wilson and Glenn Whelan are the two midfielders available at the bench for the struggling Stoke City. The two impact substitute strikers for the Potters are Elidur Smari Gudjohnsen and Ricardo Fuller.
While for the visitors, it is Marek Stech warming the bench as Hammers second choice keeper. There is only one defender for the visitors and that is James Tomkins. Midfield options are huge for the Hammers with the likes of Jullen Fabubert, Luis Boa Morte and Radoslav Kovac. There is another famous name warming the bench in this match and that is none other than Benni McCarthy, who was recently fined for gaining weight by his boss. Along with him, Pablo Edson Barrera can be substituted as a forward.
After the first half, the home team entered the field with more attacking intent. It was a fabulous start for the Potters as they managed to score in the first three minutes of the second half. Stoke City have scored another equaliser in two consecutive games after going down in the first half.
It is a goal which was expected from the home team. Another come back from the Potters. This time again it was from the one and only Kenwyne Jones who has managed to score with his head and level the score with Tim Cahil of Everton of scoring most goals by head.
Another perfect display from the Potters, the goal included the defender, the midfielder and of course the dangerous heading machine striker. Potters left back R. Huth played the ball down the right channel and the experienced Midfielder Pennant’s first time cross was headed home by Jones.
It was all level in first few minutes of the half. The match came to the position from where it was started but this time it was the Stoke City, who were consistently pressurizing the visitors for the second consecutive win.
However, the visitors were completely on the task, Hammers defended quite well despite the bad performances in last few fixtures. After few minutes, Hammers started counter attacking the home side restricting them to their half.
It was quite well matched as both teams have managed to score one goal each. Finally, Hammers claimed their first point of Barclays Premier League of this season at Britannia Stadium.
It was quite eventful at Britannia Stadium, as fans witnessed one of the toughest matches. There were five yellow cards given in this fixture.
