In the 88th minute, he made a hand ball and was punished accordingly. Aldo Simoncini took a right footed kick but the ball just got played. Seconds later San Marino continued to foul Hungary players and this time again Nicola Albani was caught
fouling Balazs Dzsudzsak.
In the 89th minute Balazs Dzsudzsak shoed his superb form, when he struck an astounding 20 yard screamer into the upper right corner from the right side of the field, stunning all the onlookers.
That however was not the last goal of the match, as it came just moments after this making the 7-0 score 8-0. It was Carlo Valentini who tackled Zsolt Laczko in an unjust manner that resulted in a penalty.
With referee signalling to begin Zoltan Gera stood against the spot to score and score he did, as the 31 year old player placed the ball impeccably into the back of the net. The goalkeeper had no chance of saving it.
In the fouls aftermath Carlo Valentini was shown a red card which is actually his 2nd booking of the season. At the end the match, the referee ended San Marino’s ordeal where they were plundered 8-0.
Predictably, the most attempts at goal were made by Hungary. They had 24 attempts of which 15 were on target in comparison to San Marino’s 1 and that alone was on target.
Most of the fouls were also committed by San Marino players, 17, while Hungarians made 12. Nevertheless, 3 offsides were made by Hungary but that could be expected as their number of attacks were a lot.
Hungary also gained11 corner kicks in contrast to San Marino’s 1. The defeated team also earned 2 yellow cards along with a red. In the end as Hungary had total control over the game therefore, the ball possession was impressive on their behalf too. They
had possessed the ball 63% of the time while San Marino had managed 37%.
Over all it was a great performance by the once great team and if under the leadership of Gera the talented team continues their progress, they are bound to rejuvenate and find themselves on the podium yet again.
