Football: Manchester United want Wesley Sneijder for 29 million, Balotelli worth 30 million

With only one match remaining in the World Cup the attention is fast turning towards the domestic competitions, teams and clubs. Managers are out in the market to lure the big stars of the World cup to their clubs in order to strengthen their squads.

Few have shined brighter than Dutch midfield general, Wesley Sneijder, at this World Cup. Now the Inter Milan play maker finds himself as one of the hottest commodities in the World of football.

Manchester United are desperate for attacking flare in their midfield and after a dismal showing by Michael Carrick last season they are in search of a midfield playmaker. At the moment there is no one better than Sneijder.

United have launched a staggering 29 million pound bid for the Holland star. They are ready to be locked in a two way battle for the signature of the Champions league winner.

Dimitar Berbatov, also, had a disappointing season last year and was blamed for United’s failure to seize the initiative on the title race in the absence of injured Wayne Rooney. Berba is also set to leave the Old Trafford club in the summer and in his replacement United are looking towards the 19 year old Inter discard Mario Balotelli.

Balotelli has been unsettled at the Guessepe Meazza and has been involved in public outbursts with the management.  He is likely to be offloaded if the offer is right but Inter will not be willing to sell Wesley Sneijder.

Manchester City is also interested in taking the striker to the Eastlands. They will give united a hard time in securing the signature of the striker given their financial powers.

Soren Lerby, Wesley Sneijder’s agent, has claimed that talks are being held to extend his client’s contract with the Italian club which is worth 3.5 million pounds a year.

United are the first ones in the market to make a move for the former Real Madrid man and their interest has also been confirmed by the Inter Milan’s president Massimo Moratti.

“The interest from Manchester United in Sneijder is real, but I didn’t look into it in an attempt not to fall into temptation. I am following him at the World Cup and I think I’ll do the same also at Inter for the next years. I still haven’t received a good enough offer for even one player to leave. We will see”.

Meanwhile, Inter have slapped a 30 million pound price tag on their 19-year old striker, Balotelli, keeping in mind the interest from noveau riche Manchester City. If United are to land the striker they can be sure of facing stiff competition from their City rivals.

Manchester United in the meanwhile are also preparing for a raid on their star left back Patrice Evra. Both, Barcelona and Juventus, are keen on signing the French international captain.

There are already reports in the market that Evra is considering his future at Old Trafford. With the attraction of playing at the Camp Nou, temptation can prove to be too strong to resist for the United left back. The 29-year old defender has been a key man in United’s defence for the past couple of seasons. But there are reports in the Spanish media that the player may be looking for a new challenge outside England.

Real Madrid has long been tracking Evra. But after the arrival of Jose Mourinho, from Inter Milan, they have turned their attention towards Ashley Cole, who is also looking to move out of England after his split with Cheryl Cole.
