Football News: Brazilian Santos striker Neymar declares no regrets over not joining Chelsea
The rising star from Brazil who is currently the prized possession of Santos, Neymar has declared in a recent press release that he does not mourn over his decision which has made him stay in Brazil.
In the press release the striker told media that he has no regrets over snubbing the club from South of London, Chelsea. The forward was given a chance to play for Blues by joining them in summer but for some unknown reason the player
declined the offer.
Some said that the reason was wages of the player while pundits had described that it was because of the demands and transfer fees by Santos that lead to a deadlock.
The wanted man is fast becoming one of the coveted players to have in a club and because of that many top notch clubs were after him and apparently they had to go through a lot to acquire his services.
The summer transfer was an example of that when there was speculation the player might join Manchester City or Chelsea. With rumours wide spreading that Neymar will be joining a club from Premier League managers and clubs demanded him
from abroad.
La Liga, Serie A, Ligue 1 and Bundesliga all wanted to sign him but alas none of them was successful. Now with the winter transfer window closing in chances are spiking again despite silence from the player that he might make a transfer
saga all over again.
The player’s earlier comments on not leaving Santos were simply articulated that he did not want to leave. It was thought that the Brazilian international wanted to spend some more time in Brazil and that’s why he opted to stay back home.
In the press release the 18-year-old attacker stated, “The uncertain period that followed after Chelsea's offer was another good experience for me: saying no to a move to Europe and choosing to stay at Santos.”

Neymar also commented on the Chelsea issue saying, “It was tough making that decision, but I don’t regret it. I think that my family and I made the right choice and I’m very happy to have done so.”

He added, “I experienced a number of situations this year that have really helped, not just on the pitch but off it too. So I think that this was a really pivotal year in my life - a year that I’ll never forget. I’ve learnt a lot and managed to become the player
I am today.”
