Football News: FIFA’s President Sepp Blatter satisfied with Russia 2018 and Qatar 2022 World Cup
There was one man who was going to play the pivotal role in the decision of the next two FIFA World Cup venues and who else could it be but FIFA president Sepp Blatter.
His role and his judgment by the end of the process will be vital in the assessment of the success and implication the future tournaments will provide.
FIFA just recently destroyed its image not just in front of football fans but the whole world when every single child who ever dreamed of becoming popular on field began to question if even FIFA was corrupted and if so “Are the
former legendary players and renown figures part of this latest scandal?”
It is easy to assume that part of that has already been revealed and while FIFA’s governing body is still active in acting on those earlier lambasting by media and critics.
Blatter on the other hand has had quite different roles to express his side on the previous dilemma. Nonetheless after the bidding process he has come out and stated that he is glad for the respective countries in being able to
acquire the World Cup hosting rights.
In a press release Blatter announced that he was extremely satisfied with the end result of the 2018 and 2022 World Cup selections. He congratulated the hosting countries; Russia (2018) and Qatar (2022) along with wishing them
all the best for the preparation process.
In the ceremony yesterday the Executive Committee members of FIFA selected Russia to host the 2018 World Cup. Russia surprised everyone with the $4 billion final bid while on the other hand the smallest country to ever host the
World Cup as yet the wealthy Qatar got the privilege of acquiring hosting rights in 2022.
Regarding the hosting of the biggest football tournament in the world Blatter was found stating, “We will travel to two completely new countries. There has never been a World Cup in Russia or elsewhere in Eastern Europe.”
He added, “Additionally, nations from the Middle East and the Arabic world have long been waiting to get the chance to host the World Cup.”
The 74-year-old, 8th President of FIFA expressed his satisfaction by stating, “This being said, I'm clearly a satisfied man at the moment. Football is moving in the right direction and these decisions make me a happy FIFA president.”
