Football News: Fabio Capello searches players for England versus France, wants Rooney to be rested
The coach of England, Fabio Capello has put forth his mind saying that he believes the star Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney is under a lot of pressure and he should calm down his nerves by resting till he is back to his top form.
Capello made aware of that as the friendly against arch-rivals France draws nears. His statements therefore present the idea that Wayne Rooney will be benched in the match be it according to the self implied prudence of the Italian or because of woes and
injuries the forward is suffering from.
It is expected that the 25-year-old former Everton player will be returning from his rehabilitation treatment in United States. Sources have revealed that his return to Manchester United is scheduled for Saturday; however Capello will not be willing him
to test him on the field of Wembley against France.
An official linked to England’s national team informed, “I don't think it's a good idea to rush Wayne Rooney back for England. He is not having a good time at the moment and we must all be aware that he needs time.”
The official stated that everyone was hoping the player would make an early comeback as he is a key component of the team, “We want Wayne Rooney back as the Wayne Rooney we all know when he was at his best in Munich in the Champions League. That is the Wayne
Rooney the country wants to see again.”
He added, “He needs to come back with England the way he was. For that reason we see little point of rushing him back now.”
The Bolton Wanderers striker Kevin Davies was up for the task last time in his first call up for Three Lions. His services were required in the match against Montenegro in the qualification process for European Championship.
Now however it seems that the young 21-year-old Newcastle striker Andy Carroll will be appearing for England. It is expected that the player will make more appearances in future, especially in the matches of Euro 2012.
On this issue the official informed, “We thought that Montenegro would be tough defensively and for a period of the game we might need that kind of centre forward, and for the last 15 minutes we played the long ball game,'' the insider added. "That is not
the way we intend to play against France, so we shall see about whether Kevin Davies is the player we would need for this match.”
There are two more players that have been linked with a call up and they are Matthew Jarvis and Jay Bothroyd, nonetheless pundits and experts have predicted that they should not get ahead of themselves as there is time before they feature as stars for the
Three Lions.
The controversial David Beckham has also not earned his comeback for England despite the player being in good form and performances for L.A.Galaxy.
