Football News: Injury Update – Thiago Silva out for 6 months and Mathieu Flamini for 1 month
AC Milan officials have confirmed that their first team players Thiago Silva and Mathieu Flamini have suffered injury.
Reports have revealed that Thiago Silva is out of action because of meniscus damage and Mathieu Flamini has torn his ligaments. Therefore, the defender and the midfielder have been benched for an uncertain period.
Now, that the Brazilian player Silva and French player Flamini are out on recovery and rehab, Rossoneri will have to improvise with what they are left with at the club.
Players from the Red and Black part of San Siro are already exhausted and aged to say the least, but now that two players, who were giving good performances, are out of the first team; their dream of having a successful campaign
might just go down the drain.
At the moment, AC Milan are top of the Serie A table despite some of their players being unable to be in full form or being fully fit to play. With Andrea Pirlo still not in the featuring squad and other Devils from the defensive
line-up out of action, the AC Milan manager Massimiliano Allegri will have a big decision to make. 
Club officials have informed media that Silva will travel back home, Brazil, and there have assessment by will head back to Brazil and have his meniscus problem checked by the Brazilian team’s doctors.
They have also clarified that the scans from the first report have shown the player could be out for around four to six months; however, a final report will be sent in later.
Flamini, on the other hand, has also received extensive damage on his ligaments and therefore, he will be benched for around a month at least.
According to the press release by the officials, “Milan doctor Gianluca Melegati communicates Thiago Silva had a scan which showed a lesion to the medial posterior meniscus of the right knee. The player will head to Rio de Janeiro
for a consultant with Professor Jose Luiz Runzo - the Brazil team medic.”
They added, “Flamini underwent a scan also and it showed a lesion to his medial ligament in his right knee. The prognosis is three to four weeks.”
Silva and Flamini received the injuries in AC Milan’s Champions League match on Wednesday. Although, Milan lost the match to Ajax two goals to nil, but the defeat was still irrelevant, as they had already qualified for the Last
16 stage of Champions League.
