Football News: Juventus hopeful of signing Real Madrid’s French forward Karim Benzema
Rumours are rife from Spain that Real Madrid’s French prodigy, Karim Benzema is on the verge of making a Juventus transfer this winter.
Sources have revealed that the Italian giants, Juventus are planning a bid for the Algerian born French forward. The young player who can play at all forward positions is hailed as the Saviour of France as well as the next Zinedine Zidane.
The 22 year old player was bought from Lyon in 2009, after he started his junior career with the French footballing powerhouse. While his career with Lyon was lustrous; having produced 67 goal and 16 assists in 150 matches, this can’t be said when his performance
with Los Blancos is considered.
For Real Madrid, Benzema who was at his paramount form yet when bought from Lyon has appeared in 39 matches and scored 10 goals along with 4 assists. The expectations from Benzema were high as they reckoned he will be the talisman that would change the course
of the underachieving club.
Benzema could not satisfy the highly set desires from him and therefore succumbed to pressure in the end not even being able to perform regularly and that lost him a spot in the starting line up.
Now with the arrival of Portuguese Jose Mourinho the performance of Benzema has improved drastically and he is back to making appearances in the starting line up.
According to media reports, Benzema won’t mind a Serie A move and as the player is versatile at playing on different positions he won’t have any trouble adapting to the Italian play.
Now at Bernabeu, Mourinho has allotted the French international a targeted role in the team and so far he has been successful in producing results. There are rumours that Mopurinho wants to off load him and bring a player of his desire in the team as in his
perspective the player though is talented but is extra on the squad.
A rift seems to be evolving between Benzema and Mourinho on this issue, as January draws nearer where the transfer window will be reopened. Juventus lay dormant for now waiting for the opportunity to call for a bid.
Sources have informed that Juventus are planning to sign the French player with a bid of less than 35 million pounds. However, they will have to face competition from Inter Milan and Manchester United, as they are looking forward to sign in the player.
