Football News: Liverpool infuriated by England coach Fabio Capello
Liverpool's captain, Steven Gerrard who also happens to be England's national team’s captain, managed to get himself injured in the international friendly game against France. Liverpool released an official press release on the team's
website that stated: "Steven injured his hamstring.”
“He's just been in for an early assessment here and it certainly looks like a significant hamstring injury"
"He's going to be out for a little while, I'm afraid. I'd imagine it could be three to four weeks."
Gerrard who is scheduled to undergo a scan on his leg later on in the week, has almost certainly been ruled out for the coming three to four weeks based on an early assessment. This means that the player could easily be out for much longer
if he fails to recover back in time.
Gerrard was spotted to be limping out of the England game on the eighty fifth minute mark however what was really astonishing to find out was the fact that Capello had promised the Liverpool management that Gerrard wouldn't play for more
than sixty minutes.
Now Capello’s behaviour has been labelled as childish and rather amateurish manager by the Liverpool staff, who happen to be on the brink of suing the manager and the Football Association due to the injury that Gerrard suffered.
The main reason for Liverpool's staff and management to be so infuriated, is down to the fact that Liverpool are currently sitting in the eleventh spot in the Premier League. In simple words, the team just cannot afford to see the team's
captain, who has often also been the teams saviour be ruled out of action for so long.
That being said, there is not much that can be done about the injury now. Liverpool are currently contemplating a fine to be paid to them, in order to compensate the damages that the team will suffer in the absence of their captain. They
are currently looking to get around five hundred thousand pounds from the English FA, however the exact amount will be determined by the court later on.
