Football News: Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho wants former French player Zinedine Zidane as assistant coach of Los Blancos
The stars might align with the best among the managers and the best among the players joining hands and running probably the greatest football club of the world, Real Madrid.
The Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho who is managing at Real Madrid these days has hinted that the French legend Zinedine Zidane might help him manage at his former club.
The 47 year old manager stated that though Zidane might not be sure or rather interested in the job for now, it is a very open possibility that the 38 year old might come forth with a decision that leads him to his old home in Spain, Bernabeu.
At the moment Mourinho is trying to convince Zindane to join him in the coaching ranks and become the assistant coach of Los Blancos instead of becoming an adviser to the president of Real Madrid, Florentino Perez.
Zidane is hailed as the saviour not just of France but also Real Madrid, as he scored the crucial goal in the final Champions League of 2002. The World Cup victor who has often been the person to deliver for Les Bleus has many a time been praised by the former
Inter Milan manger Mourinho.
Zidane has been associated with top notch teams in the past having played with Cannes, Bordeaux, Juventus and Real. For Real Madrid he played 225 matches and scored 49 goals. He came to the club in the season of 2001-02 and stayed till their peak in 2005-06.
Mourinho has arrived at Bernabeu just this season from San Siro where he helped the Nerazzurri win a treble. It included the Serie A title as well as the Champions League title.
In a press release Mourinho stated on Zidane’s reappearance with the club, “I would like to have him more with me and less with the president.”
He added, “I don't think he wants to become a coach but I would still like to have him with me."
