Football News: Steven Gerrard to make his comeback as soon as possible
Liverpool's captain and lifelong saviour, Steven Gerrard has been missing action ever since the player went on to get injured in an international friendly which saw England take on France. England eventually lost the match, however the
defeat was an even bigger blow for Liverpool Football Club. This is because prior to the game the team was promised that Gerrard would not be featured in the game for more than fifty minutes, however the verbal contract was violated as Gerrard was on the pitch
for over eighty minutes and as a result picked up an injury to his leg.
Liverpool were infuriated with the English FA for the inury their skipper had sustained and in return went on to pocked over half a million pounds in damages. Nonetheless that does not compensate for the fact that Gerrard is and has been
out of action for a while now. However Liverpool's manager Roy Hodgson has gone ahead and stated that the captain's road to recovery is right on track and that he is looking to be back as soon as possible.
Hodgson is quoted to have said: “He’s straight into it and he’s anxious to get back as quickly as possible”
“He’s not letting any dust settle but I don’t think there’s so much he can do at the moment.”
“First of all he has to let the injury quieten down and then really start to work on it.”
The fact that they first have to wait for the injury to quiet down means that matters might take a little longer than the team would have hoped for. However on the brighter side of things, Joe Cole seems to be making his recovery much
faster than expected and is looking to feature in the weekend’s matches. This is quite possibly some of the best news that Liverpool has heard in what seems like forever now.
