Football - Possible Winter Transfers of 20 Players (Part 8)
Now, Carlos Tevez is the first choice striker, and Adebayor might look for a move away so that he gets more playing time.
The Togolese striker is pondering over his future at East Lands with AC Milan, Inter Milan, Lazio, Juventus and Real Madrid leading the chase for the African forward.
Harry Redknap, boss of Tottenham Hotspurs, is also understood to be monitoring the situation.
Want Away:
The Italian giants, Juventus were interested in signing Emmanuel Adebayor in the summer, although they were also linked with Edin Dzeko.
The Togolese striker has spent much of his time at Emirates openly courting big sides around the world. Media reports claim that Adebayor’s representative is seeking urgent talks with Manchester City manager, Roberto Mancini to make the player’s position
clear: give him more playing time or he will submit a transfer request.
It is highly unusual for a player to mention other clubs by their names but in the past Emmanuel, who insists he has a good relationship with his manager, has issued come-and-get-me pleas to the likes of Juventus, Real Madrid and Inter, but it appears Juventus
are currently top on his list.
Juventus are the favourites to land the Togolese striker with Adebayor also revealing this month that he would like to play his football in Turin.
The Manchester City want away striker had said earlier this month that his team-mate Patrick Vieira, who was part of Juventus during Fabio Capello, has advised him to join Turin. Adebayor had added that he had been in talks with ‘The Old Lady’ in the past.
He also cleared his relation with Manchester City’s boss, Robert Mancini and said that he isn't annoyed with him. The African attacker had warned that he could be the one to move in the winter transfer window if he is not given his first team football.
Lazio's Interest:
Lazio are ready to battle Juventus in a move for the want away striker, Emmanuel Adebayor. The African attacker is not sure about his place in the starting eleven of Manchester City, as he expects to face even stiffer competition when Mario Balotelli would
return from his injury.
Emmanuel seems to be crying out for help as the Togolese fears that he will play little more than a bit-part role at Manchester City. Media reports further claim that Lazio have now joined the race after being buoyed by their stellar start to the season.
Lazio are the current leaders of Italian League after six matches and the club hierarchy is ready to spend some money in January to keep up their pace.
Emmanuel, who struggled for fitness at the start of the season, has not started even a single Premier League match this season for Manchester City.
Lazio had earlier tried to sign Roque Santa Cruz from Manchester City in the summer and also indicated that they would go back for him in January, but now they seem to have their eyes on a bigger coup.
